A FORMER governor of Worcester College of Technology is set to join Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust as a non-executive board member.
Trust chairman, Michael O'Riordan, has announced that John Darby will replace former director Dorma Urwin, who stepped down late last year.
Mr Darby, who lives near Evesham, spent his entire career with Pearce Construction, joining when he left school and rising to become managing director of the company's Midlands office.
The 58-year-old will join fellow non-executive directors Colin Beardwood, Sheila Ellwood, Chris Nicholls and David Wigley on the trust board.
"I believe the experience I have gained during my career in business can be of use to the trust and I look forward to learning more about how my local hospital services are run," he said.
