MANAGER Ian Britton has issued a 'don't moan' message about hard-up Kidderminster Harriers' decision to cut their playing budget for next season.
He believes the Nationwide League Division Three club's board of directors are right to keep a tight rein on finances.
He said: "While I am obviously disappointed that decision has been taken, I appreciate it is the right one to ensure the future of the club.
"I don't want people moaning about this. Too many clubs have slipped into administration recently and I don't want us to be one of those.
"Many clubs at different levels of the professional leagues have tried to spend money that they don't have to provide a 'quick-fix'.
"More often than not that has proved fatal in the long term interests of the club, hence the reason why the Football League has a salary 'capping' system for next season."
Despite the financial constraints, however, determined Britton emphasises that his main aim is to make sure that Harriers improve on last term's efforts when they finished in 11th position in the table in their third season as a Football League outfit.
He said: "I'm ambitious. I want to do well, but I must stress it will take time to do that at this club for many reasons.
"It may take two or three years before the club is stable enough to really push itself up onto the next level."
