TWO music-mad Worcestershire lads came out on top when they both won pop competitions.
Ten-year-old David Brazier beat thousands of other young hopefuls who entered the BBC Saturday Show's Busted karaoke competition, with his lively rendition of the band's hit Year 3000.
David, of Lineholt Lane, Ombersley, spoke to Busted on the phone after winning his competition.
"It's really, really cool," said the King's Hawford School pupil, after finding out he had won.
David won a karaoke machine and sang his song one more time in front of screaming fans.
He will perform alongside his idols at the Manchester Apollo at the end of the month.
Jamie Griffiths won the accolade of The Ultimate Smiths Fan after being voted into the national final of a radio competition put together by 6 Music, a new digital radio station.
Jamie, aged 18, of Riverview Close, Hallow, Worcester, won the competition on Friday after taking part in a Smiths quiz in which he was competing against Dave Rogers from Cambridge, live on air in Salford.
The Worcester Sixth Form College student was presented with a gold disc which originally belonged to Andy Rourke, former bass player with the Smiths.
"The quiz took 10 to 15 minutes - it was quite nerve wracking," said Jamie, who is vegetarian like former Smiths singer Morrissey, and has his hair in a Morrissey-style quiff.
"I was in shock when I won. It still hasn't sunk in."
