AFTER reading your leader (We Say, Saturday, May 12) I was wondering where your staff parked in the city and what made you believe that £2 for four hours is expensive.
The City Walls car park charges 90p an hour and other multi-storey parks charge at least £1.50 an hour.
Yes, it would be good if the hospital car park was free but no hospitals like Worcester have free parking.
A charge of £2 for four hours is therefore much cheaper than most city car parks.
I am pleased there is a plan to make more car park spaces available, but we have found it just about possible to park in the existing park.
Recently, my husband attended for tests on approximately six occasions. He also had a short stay in the hospital and one as a day patient. We were able to park on every occasion but made sure we arrived at least an hour before an appointment.
He attends the Moor Street Clinic on a regular basis and we are used to leaving at least an hour before an appointment, as parking there is much worse then at the hospital.
Of course, there are things wrong with the new hospital set-up, but we have had wonderful service and are rather tired of hearing it criticised on every occasion.
M S FULLER,
Worcester.
