GREEN-fingered garden fanatics will be able to experience a touch of the Caribbean with a visit to Chelsea.
The annual Chelsea Flower Show, from today until Tuesday, May 27 will include an exotic display by a Malvern-born woman.
Julie Toll studied at Pershore College of Horticulture before beginning her career with Wyevale Garden Centres, which is sponsoring the garden.
Designed to be both beautiful and practical, the small Caribbean garden will boast pockets of herbs and fruit, which nestle alongside the hot colours and bold foliage, which characterises life in the sun.
It also features an environmental theme with many recycled materials being used.
Also exhibiting at the show will be Worcester funeral director AV Band and the city's branch of Age Concern.
The two have joined forces to sponsor The Simple City Garden by award-winning designer Nick Allen.
This will place an emphasis on natural minerals such as wood, gravel and stone and will mostly contain specimen plants such as corokia, agaves and yuccas.
"We are delighted to be involved in the world's most popular and renowned flower show," said Lynne Matthews, Age Concern representative.
"Gardening is one of the most favoured hobbies of the over-50s and it has amazing therapeutic results.
"It is an effective way to keep fit, reduce injuries, improve self esteem and reduce stress levels."
