A GARAGE owner who has admitted defrauding customers in deals over classic cars has had his sentence postponed at Worcester Crown Court.
Timothy Packer, aged 63, of Dower House, Holt Fleet Road, Ombersley, was said by the prosecution to have traded in Morgans and other classic cars worth more than £20,000.
His business in Hagley Road, Oldswinford, closed after he got into financial difficulty.
Judge Michael Mott remanded him on bail until Friday, June 27, when he will be sentenced.
In February, he pleaded guilty at Hereford Crown Court to fraudulent trading between August 13, 2001, and February 1 last year by intending to defraud creditors.
The prosecution calculated that at least £70,000 was missing as a result of five deals.
Packer told police that he had used cash from some deals to pay other owners.
Prosecutor Andrew Evans said Packer's assets had been estimated at £44,000 but the realiseable value of various insurance policies had to be checked.
Saleema Mahmood, defending, submitted that it would be far easier to carry out assessment if Packer was not in custody.
She accepted that he was likely to be jailed for the offences.
