AS lead surrealist with the George Cowley Experience, I'm pleased to reply to M Burcher's letter (You Say, Tuesday, May 6) headlined "Cowley combo's lust for glory".
I, too, have become increasingly puzzled over recent months as to whether we do "all this carry-on" for fame, money or enlightenment.
I ponder also over what would have been our fate had we initially called ourselves "The M Burchers" (as originally suggested by Lonesome Paul Rose, erstwhile guitarist with ourselves.)
We did not adopt this name, however, for fear that it would be phonetically distorted to "The Embalmers", which was not the image we wished to project, despite sometimes now playing to audiences which include dead people.
