ENVIRONMENTALLY friendly residents keen to become involved in Worcester's new recycling scheme have been putting out their bags of cans, plastics and paper too soon.
The kerbside collection scheme kicks off for those with a green label on the clear and purple collection sacks on Tuesday, June 3, and the following week for those with an orange label on their sacks.
But city refuse collectors noticed a number of bags of recyclables already out on the streets.
Environmental protection officer John Bond said it was brilliant residents were so keen to get involved.
However, the normal refuse crews do not have the facilities to deal with the recycling bags, which will be collected separately.
Mr Bond urged the 38,000 households that have received their recycling pack to check the calendar delivered with it.
He also asked people not to put too much out all at once, or crews would never get round.
The city council has set up a hotline to deal with any queries about the new service on 01905 722465.
