AN elderly woman had her life savings stolen after two youths conned their way into her Batchley home on Sunday.
The youths made their way into sheltered accommodation and first walked into a 79-year-old woman's home. They asked for a pen but left without taking anything.
They then visited her 89-year-old neighbour and confused her by talking about an electric wheelchair.
One of the youths kept the pensioner talking while the second searched her home and stole £2,000. The pair then left through a fire exit.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, at about 1.30pm.
The first youth is described as a white male, aged about 17, 5ft 10ins tall with light brown hair. He was wearing a grey jacket.
The second is described as a white male, aged about 14, with short brown hair with a fringe. He had a bandage on his right arm and was wearing a white T-shirt.
Witnesses can call DC Jones on 08457 444888.
