REDDITCH MP Jacqui Smith dropped in to see new facilities at Greenlands Post Office on Friday as she continues to add her weight to the fight to retain in Headless Cross and St Georges post offices.
Ms Smith has offered strong support to residents, especially the elderly, for which the post offices in Rectory Road and Beoley Road are a lifeline.
A review of services has earmarked them for closure.
Ms Smith feels the Post Office would be better served by expanding the services at the two threatened outlets.
At the Greenlands branch in Studley Road, the MP saw how new facilities such as a cashpoint machine and modern banking services enable customers of high street banks to access their accounts free of charge.
