A PROJECT aimed at encouraging Batchley families to become more active is set to kick off on June 2.

The Active Families scheme is aimed at people of all ages and abilities and is a way of bringing together the community to try new sports while offering education and training.

The project is being led by Redditch Council's Sports Development Unit in partnership with Batchley Support Group, NEW College and Sure Start.

Activities will include aerobics, circuit training, tennis, a healthy eating course and a sports therapy course.

There will also be a multi-sports session for children, offering them fun games while developing skills in various sports.

A drop-in IT centre in Oak Road will also give people access to computers and the internet.

All activities will be held on Mondays between 6.30-8.30pm at Batchley Community Centre, Batchley First School, HDA Social Club and the OAK Centre.

Tickets cost £2.50 for two adults and four children from Batchley Community Centre from 6pm on Mondays.
