THERE were a record 175 finishers to Worcester Triathlon Club's annual Spring Triathlon held at Malvern College.
There was a tough course -- a 400-yard pool swim, the 25km bike course was twisty and undulating and the final 5km run had a long uphill start before the dash across the Common to finish at the College transition area.
The overall winner of the race was Joshua Tompkins of Manchester Tri in a time of one hour, two minutes, 17 seconds -- a fantastic time when you consider he is still a junior.
The winning lady was Ceris Gilfillan, a former Worcester club member, in a time of 1.18.53. Ceris was a member of the British Cycling Team in the Sydney Olympics.
