EXTENSIVE tests carried out by CEFAS (Centre for Environment, Fisheries, Agriculture Science) following problems at Woodlands View Fishery have discovered a strain of SVC, which saw a percentage of the resident large Carp die.
However, the majority of the remaining Carp are apparently healthy and continue to be caught in large numbers.
Fish deaths have now ceased and there have been no problems with any of the Fisheries' other fish stocks of Rudd, Roach, Bream, Tench, F1 Hybrids, Golden Orf and Barbel.
As of Friday, May 16, and with CEFAS approval, owner Mike Mason has started restocking his main pools with large quantities of fish. Matches continue and are still being won with good weights from most pegs
