BROMSGROVE rally driver Iain Henderson has moved to the top of the National Tarmacadam Championship table after success in the Isle of Man.
Partnered in his MG ZR by co-driver Paul Farley, Henderson fought hard over the two-day event spanning 13 stages and over 100 miles.
Henderson was given even more chance of success when championship leader Paul Harewood exited the event at the first stage.
The event started last Friday with five night stages in the south of the island. The Tracker Motorsport crew darted along dark narrow lanes at speeds well over 100mph despite a slight engine fault, which saw the machinery down on power.
On Saturday Henderson used every opportunity to take time out of local driver David Milchreest and the pair swapped times throughout the morning with Henderson was slightly behind at the lunch service stop.
As the day drew to a close a formidable last stage effort by Henderson overhauled Milchreest's margin by just under a second for victory.
