TWO sporty students from Droitwich Spa have taken huge strides towards a community award by attending a major event at Loughborough University.
Stuart Brooks and James Earl, year 12 students at Spa's high school, in Briar Mill, attended the Step Into Sport three-day conference at the end of April.
The conference gave advice on including disabled people in sport, designing and running coaching sessions and improving team building skills.
These skills will be put to the test in July when the duo organise a festival of sport for middle schools in Droitwich and Bromsgrove.
Stuart and James are currently completing their Community Sport Leader award, for which they have to do between 50 and 200 hours of voluntary work in sport.
As part of this, James runs a website for Bedworth United Football Club in Coventry and is involved with their youth training programme, while Stuart coaches rugby.
