Alcester is losing its fight to expand the town's employment opportunities after Stratford Council rejected an amendment to the revised draft of the local plan.
But councillors have vowed to take the battle higher - maybe even to the Deputy Prime Minister.
Expansion to the Arden Forest Industrial Estate was restricted in the most recent plan, which is the blueprint for future planning applications and development.
The Chronicle reported last week that more industrial land at Abbey Works, on Bleachfield Street, looks set to go for more housing and councillors are concerned business is being forced out of the town.
A meeting between councillors and Stratford Council officers has been set up.
