THE May meeting was to discuss three resolutions put forward by the National Federation.
Ann Thurrell, president and delegate, will vote on the institute's behalf at the National Conference in June.
The resolutions were: Concern over the diet and exercise of children. More regulations required over the advertising of products, which could result in future health problems.
More Government funds should be available to help training schemes as the country is becoming increasingly short of skilled trades people.
Despite new regulations, more help is still needed for 'hotel' care for the elderly.
Members supported the second motion, but felt amendments were required on the other two.
After refreshments the drama section performed three sketches with the theme of 'Love and Marriage.' They were great fun for those taking part and watching.
The next meeting will be on June 5 when Ellwyn Goss talks about 'Laughter is the best medicine.'
