The May meeting of Ipsley WI proved interesting. Members Lorna White, Sheila Darby and Judith Scott presented the resolutions to be voted on at the Annual General Meeting at the Albert Hall in June.
These were on 'Obesity and diet related health problems in children and in later life', 'Facilities and services provided to older people irrespective of means' and 'The promotion and strengthening of modern apprenticeship schemes'.
Arrangements were made for those joining the county visit to the Lowry Art Gallery and the Food, Flower and Craft Day at Bewdley.
Members were reminded of the Associated Country Women of the World collection which is ongoing and well supported this year and were asked for their ideas for a summer outing.
A welcome parcel had been received from Taylors Yorkshire Tea which included tea bags, biscuits and a tea towel.
The competition for six biscuits on a plate was won by Judith Scott, as was the flower of the month, an azalea.
On Thursday, 10 members enjoyed a pleasant evening walk from Coughton ford.
The next meeting will be at Woodfield Middle School at 7.30 pm on June 11, when Shirley Noble will talk about 'Kings, Queens and Mistresses'.
