PARISH COUNCIL: Notes from the annual meeting of Fladbury Parish Council:
Mr Tom McDonald was welcomed as a new councillor.
Coun Llewellyn was re-elected as chairman and coun Southcott as vice chairman.
It was agreed to make grants to the villagee hall, the parochial church council for the church clock, CAB, and Cotswold Line Promotion Group.
Verge on Station Road: Worcs CC said the verge would be reinstated. The clerk is to write and ask that the kerbing be raised to the same height as the other side of the road as previously promised.
Tennis Club: Shields had not been fitted to all lights and the clerk is to write to the club stating that all shields must be fitted before the floodlight season begins otherwise the council will take action to stop the courts being used.
Pool garden: The clerk is to contact RoSPA for advice on how to deal with rubber tiles around the roundabout which are lifting.
Village clean up: This had been completed by the PTA and WI and money from WDC had been distributed to these two organisations.
Lower Moor FC: Coun Anderson is to re-draft the agreement outlining conditions as a result of complaints of bad language, damage to pavilion etc. A letter was also to be sent to the Worcestershire League.
Periodic Electoral Review: Coun Southcott explained that the number of electors per constituency was being equalised at county level. It was being proposed that Fladbury be grouped with Cropthorne, Charlton and Hampton. It was felt Hampton would have vastly different issues and coun Southcott agreed to respond stating the council's objections.
Planning: Evesham Vale Growers - coun McDonald reported a traffic impact assessment had been done by Evesham Vale Growers but the residents were not happy with the outcome and another is to be carried out.
Old Fladbury Stores: The council had no objection to the proposed building of a double garage, but would like to see the two trees replaced. Permission for a satellite dish had been refused as the stores is a listed building.
Permission was granted for a single storey infill at Fladbury Village School. Also agreed was the construction of an industrial building replacing existing units and change of use and extensions to offices at Craycombe Farm. Permission also granted for change of use from nursing home to single dwelling at Abels Furlong.
Dog waste bins: It was agreed to order two more bins for the Pool Garden and the Wharf.
Golf club verge: The highways department is to be asked to take over the cutting of the grass verge alongside the golf club.
