STRATFORD College students were joined by a police officer for a series of lectures last week.
PC Simon Payne, people development officer at Warwickshire Police, attended the lectures in politics, psychology and public services last Thursday, as part of Adult Learners' Week, a Government initiative to encourage adults to take up learning.
The aim of PC Payne's visit was to develop new skills and build on his current expertise by observing how college lecturers delivered their training and the impact this had on students.
He said: "The concept really was for me to see how adults are trained within a college environment and compare this to training methods used within the police.
"Events like this are important to us - the police aren't a separate entity and issues such as adult development affect the whole community. It was a good experience for me to see how other agencies tackle the subject."
