THE letter in your columns last week by former county council chairman Nigel Knowles does no justice to the educational review that has commenced in Wyre Forest and is supported by all political parties including the Labour Group at County Hall.
The aim of the review is to preserve all that is already good in our schools but to consider changes to provision that will raise educational standards across the Wyre Forest area for future generations.
The consultation document gives details of the factors the county council feel are significant when considering school and wider educational provision in Wyre Forest.
It also outlines a number of options for change. The document states that it is proposed to merge several schools but all the suggestions are open for discussion and will be subject to a full consultation process which ends on November 28.
The findings will be reported back to the county council cabinet next spring.
School catchment areas will also be reviewed when the pattern of provision has been finally determined.
