AS a former pupil at Harry Cheshire High School (now Baxter College) I was amazed to read that it was being considered for closure as part of a merger programme (Shuttle/Times and News website, May 15).
After leaving the school in 1980 to move to Weston I kept in regular contact with my friends, and they, like myself, received an excellent education from the school and its teachers.
I went on to become a designer of electrical products.
I would just like to say thank-you to the staff and school for a good start in life.
