Littleton 2, Inkberrow 0
LITTLETON retained the Evesham Hospital Junior Cup at Common Road last Saturday when they completed yet another profitable season.
The Five Acres side added the local trophy to the Worcestershire Junior Cup, while also finishing runners-up in Division Two of the Midland Combination.
A classic contest was out of the question with a strong wind blowing straight down the pitch and both sides found it difficult to adapt to the tricky conditions.
Littleton benefited from the elements in the opening half and they laid siege to the Inkberrow goal.
Simon Brain came closest to breaking the deadlock before Curtis Major fired in an unstoppable 20-yard free-kick that gave Littleton the lead after 20 minutes.
Darren Reeves was narrowly off target from double the distance before Nick Burrows was thwarted by a fine save.
Inkberrow came much more into the match after the interval and Littleton had a let-off on the hour when a shot came back off the crossbar.
The game became increasingly scrappy but the destiny of the silverware was decided 14 minutes from time when Reeves headed in Brain's centre off the underside of the bar.
