I SPOKE to councillor Paul Gittins on Saturday, May 10 , complaining that the flower beds in Bewdley had not been planted with spring flowering plants and that the flower tubs in the town centre were full of chickweed.
He informed me the flower beds were bare because of Wyre Forest District Council budget cuts, but as the town centre tubs were the responsibility of the town council he would ensure that the weeds were removed.
He also assured me that in the future they would be planted with summer and winter flowers.
As Mr Gittins is known as a hands-on councillor, I was not surprised to hear that he, and his friend Chris Jones, were seen removing the chickweed from the tubs on the Sunday morning.
Well done.
