A bright, sunny evening encouraged a high number of entries in the latest round of the Ludlow Cycling Clubs' time-trial league.
The ten mile course along the Leominster by-pass was tough going as a strong crosswind prevented very fast times.
Paul Osborne (Luk-Coombes Racing) was quickest on the night and has been successful all season in open time-trials all over the region. Taking second place was Phil Mason (Climb On Bikes RT) in front of league leader Chris Williams. Chris has achieved maximum points in all of the races this season and is top of the Ludlow club riders league, where he is building up a formidable lead over Dover Disney (2nd) and Chris Lines (3rd).
Full race results were: Paul Osborne, 22:03; Phil Mason, 22:26; Chris Williams, 23:37; Peter Murrieri, 23:42; Wendy Hall, 23:54; Dover Disney, 24:04; Gary Biggs, 24:24; Dave Morris, 24:33; Dave Heaven, 24:35; Chris Hughes, 24:42; Chris Lines, 24:46; Gary McDonald, 24:50; Brenda Parker, 25:10; Neal Deller, 25:22; Robert Cole, 25:24; Tony Lam, 25:24; Nev Turner, 25:32; Malcolm Fanner, 26:08; Dave Walker, 26:09; Gaby McDermott, 26:23; Greg Smith, 26:53; John Hall, 26:56; Mick Davey, 27:13; Steve Butts, 27:29; Phil Smart, 28:10; Geoff Hudson, 28:16(PB); Paul Bayliss, 28:29; Matt Morris, 28:47(PB); Sue Hughes, 29:05; Julia McDonald, 31:38.
