A TOURING circus needs a fireman with a difference to complete their act.
Peter Jolly's Circus is looking for a person under four feet in height to drive a miniature fire engine around the ring.
The circus, which is currently performing in Callow Hill, has been trying to fill the position since December but has only just started advertising the vacancy. Clown Jolly is appealing for a more compact fire engine driver for his circus.
Fire-eater Emma Appleby, who has worked for Peter Jolly's for the last six years, said: "We've had a few calls but none of them have been what we were looking for.
"They have to be under 4ft because the fire engine is miniature and they have to able to drive it around the ring.
"Everyone who has applied so far has been too tall."
She added: "They need to have a good personality and be good with the public.
"They must also be older than 16 and able to perform."
Peter Jolly's Circus has been touring the UK for the last 30 years, but stays mainly in Wales and Shropshire.
Applicants must be willing to travel and will be provided with accommodation.
Anyone interested should call Peter Jolly on 07850 687503.
