A UNIQUE video record of Stourport as it prepares for change is now on sale - and the Shuttle/Times & News has three copies to give away.
Stourport - A Georgian Canal Town aims to show all aspects of the town, from its Georgian architecture to riverside amusement arcades, as regeneration plans accelerate.
It has taken Stourport Civic Society almost 12 months to compile the 60-minute tape which includes old photographs, up-to-date footage and interviews with visitors and older residents.
"There was a video made of Stourport some years ago but we felt it was time for a new one given it's such a critical time for Stourport - there are so many changes in the pipeline," said civic society chairman Pauline Annis.
British Waterways are bidding for £2 million of lottery money to transform the canal basins.
Videographer Albert Mogg filmed the tape which includes civic society vice president Geoff Neal presenting a guided walk round the town.
"We're hoping it will give people a good overview," said Mrs Annis. "It's designed both for residents to make them more aware of the town and for visitors as well.
"They play an important part in the life of the town. Some of the visitors interviewed were people who have been coming over several generations."
Mrs Annis added there was enough footage for further, more specialist videos on particular aspects of the town such as its canal heritage or summer visitors.
Some 500 copies of the video - introduced by Wyre Forest MP Dr Richard Taylor - have been produced initially and DVD versions are also on offer.
It is available from Stourport Library, Oxfam, the Lock Shop, Bentleys, Mr Cleancalls and Pete's Prints.
