THE final fixture in the South Midland Area takes place at Kingston Blount on Sunday when the men's Open looks like being a hot contest.

The Berks and Bucks Draghounds meeting brings the curtain down on the season and several previous Open winners will line up in the feature race.

Private Pete, trained by Lady Connell at Farthinghoe and Romany Chat, trained by Rosemary Gasson at Shutford, are two who will have to be at their best to beat the consistent Struggles Glory.

The ladies Open has plenty of entries from the South Midland Area but another consistent sort, Free, trained by Susan Hutchinson, should take all the beating, especially after winning the race at the same venue earlier this month.

Jon Trice-Rolph sends down Hedza-marley from his Todenham yard for the Open, while Hook Norton rider-trainer Andy Martin runs Mister Party in the Restricted and Circlesinthesand in the Open Maiden.

Three other winners from the last meeting are also due to make a swift return to Kingston Blount. Charlie's Angel, a winner of the Restricted under Phillip York, lines up in the Confined.

Intermediate winner Always On The Line has an entry in the men's Open, while Members' winner Tanager lines up in the Restricted for Great Missenden trainer Karen Lawther, who also runs Prince Of Beal in the Open Maiden.

The first race on Sunday gets under starter's orders at 2.30pm. More details from Talking Point on 09068 446061.
