THE wet weather again ruined Kidderminster Victoria's bid to pick up their first Birmingham League Division One win of the season.
It has contributed to two losing draws for KVCC, previously known as just Kidderminster, and now Saturday's abandonment at West Bromwich Dartmouth.
They found runs hard to come by after being put into bat and were on 42-3 when the rain intervened.
Dartmouth bowler Sadiq persistently bowled no-balls to give the Wyre Forest side some impetus in their innings.
With Mark Mansell out through an ankle injury, Joe Hill opened with Jonathan Wright who was dismissed for 12 runs.
Chris Jones made just one and Sadiq (3-29) claimed his third scalp with Victor Lawes departing for a duck despite scoring 113 runs in his previous two innings.
Hill finished on 11 not out and Craig Wood on 3 not out as the umpires and captains agreed at 5.15pm that there was no hope of further play.
Games between WB Dartmouth and Kidderminster, who claimed five and four points respectively, have a long history of suffering from bad weather.
KVCC 42-3.
The rain ruined KVCC seconds' match but Old Hill might look back and think they could have won if conditions had been better.
Matt Fludgate (6) and Keith Barrett (2) both fell early but the experienced Colin Hemsley (81) made up for it with good batting.
Phil Shaw added 21, Gavin Evans 12, Tom Sherriff 19 not out and Luke Eversham 5 not out, while Old Hill conceded 29 extras.
Old Hill looked comfortable on 140-0 to claim a Premier Division winning draw before rain stopped play.
KVCC 2nds 179-7, Old Hill 140-0.
The Worcestershire League Division Six team salvaged a losing draw from their home match against strong Belbroughton.
After winning the toss and bowling in favourable conditions, the KVCC bowlers took full advantage and had the visitors reeling at 40-4.
A 155-run partnership for the fifth wicket, including 105 from Belbroughton's Tom Gillus, meant their 227-5 from 37 overs was a daunting total.
Lee Daniels (3-52) and Andy Logan (2-50) were the wicket takers in a bowling and fielding display marred by crucial dropped catches.
In reply, Andrew Kimberlin and Rob Logan started slowly and were pegged back by excellent bowling.
Both were out with the score still to reach 30 and 15 overs bowled.
Andy Logan's 38 and Simon Trickett's unbeaten 58 made the game safe for the home side as KVCC batted out their 37 overs to finish on 141-5.
Belbroughton 227-5, KVCC 141-4.
Fixtures, Saturday: KVCC 1sts v Bromsgrove (1pm), Barnt Green v 2nds (1.30pm), Chainwire v KVCC (Worcestershire League Division Six, 2pm).
