A MAN threatened to punch his girlfriend in the stomach after arguing over mess caused by their kittens.

Worcester Magistrates Court heard how Stephen O'Flynn had been drinking when police were called to the house he was sharing with his girlfriend in Malvern.

Paul Whitfield, prosecuting, said when police arrived at the house on Saturday, May 17, O'Flynn's girlfriend told police he was no longer welcome in the premises.

"He was being abusive at the time," said Mr Whitfield.

"It was explained to him he would have to go, and come back the next day but he refused to do so."

Shouting

The prosecutor told the court yesterday that the 21-year-old defendant was shouting and was warned about his conduct.

"They (the officers) reported he was waving his arms around and swearing at them," said Mr Whitfield.

"He threatened to assault his girlfriend by punching her in the stomach."

Mr Whitfield said O'Flynn, now of Britannia Road, Worcester, also threatened to kick the door, but his girlfriend had reported no further action against him since the incident.

"This was a domestic argument about who had not cleared up the mess that the three young kittens had made," said David Taylor, defending.

"It got out of hand."

Magistrates dismissed the charges of threats to cause damage to property and affray. They bound O'Flynn over to keep the peace for 12 months at a cost of £75.
