1803: This morning at 3 o'clock, a person coming with a team of horses from Malvern to this City was stopped on the road by a single footpad who demanded his money, but meeting with a stout resistance, the fellow ran off without effecting his purpose. Several circumstances of a similar nature have, alas, happened lately in different parts of this area to public alarm.

1903: Two prostitutes of Dolday were each sentenced to 14 days hard labour for stealing wallets from their clients. John Bailey (48), a baker of Worcester, was jailed for a year for stealing from the alms box for the poor in St Helen's Church.

1953: The legendary lawyer Erskine Simes KC presided as guest of honour at the annual dinner of the London branch of the Worcester Old Elizabethans Association (Past pupils of the Royal Grammar School).
Worcester now has 800 poultry keepers, according to the city branch of the Domestic Poultry Keepers Club.
A grand total of 278 years loyal service to Messrs W. H. Aston Ltd., the Worcester firm of timber merchants, was recognised by a presentation of cheques to six employees at the annual dinner at the Oddfellows Hall, Worcester. The recipients were Harry Beck (56 years), C.T Gardener (44), B. Jenkins (43), A.H Michel (38), F. Wigley (32) and E.J. Aston (31).
