THE very successful WI coffee morning last Saturday raised £410 to be shared between Acorns Children's Hospice and Headway, the brain injury association. The committee are most grateful for your support.

On Sunday, the Rev Sue Strutt welcomed the Bishop of Ludlow, the Rt Rev Michael Hooper to Holy Trinity to celebrate a service of confirmation with holy communion. Family and friends gathered to witness the confirmation of Jessica Beavan and Zoe Bennion from Bosbury and Jessica and Olivia Hunt from Munsley. During the service the choir sang the anthems, Ave Verum and The Lord bless You and keep You.

On Sunday, at 6.30pm there will be evensong. The Hop Churches Ascension Day services will be at Holy Trinity Bosbury on Thursday, May 29, at 7am, holy communion and at 7pm, evensong. All are most welcome at these services.

A rounders championship is being organised by Canon Frome Cricket Club between the five Hop villages. The event will take place on Sunday, June 22, and whilst the rounders team play, spectators and supporters will be able to enjoy a bar and barbecue.

For children there will be a bouncy castle, games, face painting, braiding and jewellery. During the evening the Andy Masefield Jazz Band will play, luxury picnic hampers are available to order, and there will be a prize draw. The aim of the event is not only to bring the five villages closer together, but also to raise money. The intention is to split the profits equally and then each village can decide how the money is to be spent. The organisers hope it can become an annual event.
