In addition to the piece, mentioned some weeks ago, about the forthcoming Welland fete, I have been asked to point out that the fete will be opened by Mr Anthony Leahy, our local artist. He will also be judging the 'Welland Wellie' painting competition.
On another point, the annual Welland gardeners' market, in aid of St James' Church, will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 2pm in Welland Village Hall. There will be a wide range of plants for sale, plus garden equipment, a raffle and teas.
This year there will also be a children's competition for garden on a plate. Entry is free and prizes will be awarded at the market and will be in the age categories under five, five-12 and over 12 years of age.
Competition entries plus plants and other contributions for the market can be brought to the hall from 10am on Saturday. All are welcome.
