THE Chase U13s rugby team has enjoyed a very successful season just missing out on a Twickenham appearance prior to the Army versus Navy game.
The first XV has only lost one full 15-a-side game all season, to Bromsgrove in a County Cup competition.
Their successes include U13s district champions, Bredon 7s plate winners, The Daily Telegraph Emerging Schools County (Worcestershire) champions and Regional (West Midlands) champions with qualification and subsequent invitation to The Daily Telegraph Emerging Schools National finals.
The National Finals consisted of 24 teams who had all won their regional competitions, from nearly 1,000 state schools around England, and although The Chase boys did not make the last four, who were due to play at Twickenham, they did lose to the eventual winners, Penair (South West champions).
The Chase head of rugby Matt Kelly said: "I have been fortunate enough to have put out an A,B and C team on more than one occasion this year.
"This notable commitment from the boys and evident strength and depth has been a major factor to the whole squads success this season.
"The biggest success from my point of view is the massive numbers that consistently attend training and the speak of boys joining Malvern RFC."
