THE curtain will soon come down on a Newent art gallery as it shows its last exhibition before closing after 18 years.
Spring into Life! is the title of the show at The Barn at Hay Farm, which runs from Sunday until July 6. It features strange and violent drawings from Cecily Sash and lithographs by Vladimir Boscovi.
Printmaker Sally McLaren will be displaying alongside the humorous drawings by Nora Claeys, the stained glass of Debbie Lowe, Tessa Rubbra's pottery and Sabine Jesse Kniesel's paintings.
Marysia Milewski's illustrative work comes from her children's books while the curly metal sculptures of Britta Winkler are crafted on the premises.
Craftsman Clive Hurman, printmaker Ronald Henriques and Edward Willis complete the indoor line-up.
Outside, there will be garden pots by Ardyn Griffin, stone carver Bryant Fedden and his son, blacksmith Mathew Fedden. Work by sculptor and metalworker Stephen McRae will also be on show.
The gallery is owned by printmaker Veronica Gosling, whose decision to move to Exeter has brought about the gallery's closure. Ms Gosling is also showing her work in the exhibition.
She said the line-up of work represented many artists who showed with her in the gallery's early days.
"I've chosen a mix so you get an interesting lot of people showing," she said. "It's very diverse, great fun. There's a lot of humour. I have to like their work to show them."
The gallery is at Cliffords Mesne, near Newent, and opens from 10am to 6pm Fridays to Sundays. Entry is £1 for adults, free for children. Details on 01531 820068.
