COST-cutting measures by South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust have been rejected by Worcestershire County Council.

The council's cabinet turned down the proposal that it should take over responsibility for certain services, including occupational therapy, at a meeting on Thursday, May 15.

The council now wants further discussions with the trust, which needs to plug a £5.7 million hole in its finances. The PCT will discuss the rejection at its board meeting on June 4.
