MALVERN Hills Brass Band brought home the D'Arcy Trophy after competing in the 35th Annual Brass Band Contest at Weston-super-Mare.
The band was one of 40 to compete in the contest at the town's Winter Gardens last Sunday.
It competed in four different sections, fourth, third, second and first, based on the National Brass Band gradings.
After playing Edward Gregson's Variations on Laudate Dominum, lasting about 15 minutes, the Malvern Hills band won the third section, also faring well in fourth section.
Spokesman Jenny Cobley said: "We had a wonderful day, and are looking forward to a very busy season when we will be playing in local parks and at numerous other venues throughout the summer."
