LONG standing Leeda squad man Colin Deaner marked a return to form by taking the penultimate round of the Alans Tackle Spring Angling League at Brockamin.
Drawn on the dam wall of the bottom lake, Deaner turned peg 21 into a winner, taking a superb all carp weight of 66-12-0.
Feeder fishing with sweetcorn bait cast tight to the opposite island produced eight similar sized carp for the Redditch ace along with his first win on the venue for a considerable time.
Last week's third placed man Mick Halasey went one better this time when the BroadAcres Gold member finished in second place with 51-2-0. Halesey's net also contained eight carp all coming to the method feeder presented across to the far bank on peg 34 on the top pool.
Venue regular Mick Spragg (Misfits) came third thanks to three carp finding his feeder fished sweetcorn offering on bottom pool peg 31 giving him a 20-4-0 total, meanwhile the previous weekends match winner Nick Archer (BroadAcres Black) had to settle for fourth position with a method feeder weight of 18-6-0 from top lake peg 22.
Best team on the day were Leeda with 27 points followed by BroadAcres Gold on 24 with BroadAcres Black third with 23.
The league with one round remaining could not be tighter with both BroadAcres squads filling the top two positions. In first place with 67 points are the Black team while their Gold side take second with 63, slipping into third are Alans Tackle on 61.
The final round takes place this Sunday on the same venue.
Saturday's second round Summer League contest at Moorlands Farm saw competitors battling with high winds. Whilst most anglers persevered with pole tackle Fosters matchman Chris Hill used his considerable knowledge of the venue to take an excellent weight of 73-4-0. Straight ledgered tactics were employed by Hill who netted carp to six pounds consistently on sweetcorn from peg 20 on the Bank pool. Runner up Pete Whitehouse (Strike AC) also used corn presented close in on peg 12 on the same lake to finish with a final tally of 54-5-0.
Third placed Darren Clewley (Strike AC) netted 51-8-0 of carp from Meadow 11 while Lifestyle's Tony Parker took fourth spot with 43-0-0 coming from peg 17 on the Meadow pool.

The league after just two rounds puts Strike AC, Gold and Lifestyle all in joint first position with four points.
Best catch of the week was taken during Thursday's open on the Bank and Moors pools where Warren Blizzard (M&N Autos) netted 81-10-0 of carp by using cat meat presented close into the margins on Bank 13. Runner up was Barford river specialist John Stockton with 57-8-0 taken on corn.
The previous day's contest provided up-and-coming Adam Toll with another win when the Lifestyle member took 47-1-0 to the scales beating Moorlands clubman Harry Ward who netted 41-10-0 from his peg on the Meadow pool.
The three-hour evening match on the same day was won by Chris Abbott (Strike AC) with 63-10-0, along with Paul Williams being declared runner up when the Clive Smith MG man weighed in with 34-4-0.
There will be the usual Bank Holiday contest's held at Moorlands Farm along with an open weekend sponsored by tackle manufacturer Strike Angling.
Matchmen are reminded that the popular Worcester and District Anglers Thursday evening opens have started, all matches having a 5.30pm draw at the Cavalier pub with fishing from 6 until 9.
Prospects: Unsettled conditions are making most venues very difficult, fish location being of paramount importance. Bream are now starting to show on most stillwaters and canals, caster and worm being the obvious baits.
