MY daughter-in-law was admitted to the Worcestershire Royal Hospital for the birth of her baby recently.
It was an emergency, as the baby was early.
She was operated on at 8.30pm and remained in theatre until 3.30am as there were serious complications, resulting in major surgery.
There were four surgeons and many theatre staff who worked throughout the night.
A clotting agent was needed and was transported by air from Eastbourne to Birmingham and then by road to Worcester.
This wasn't private health care, I might add!
After surgery, she was transferred to the Critical Care Unit and then to the maternity ward. She remained in hospital for 30 days.
Throughout her ordeal, she received constant loving care and attention by a most dedicated and professional team of very special people.
Consultants, nursing staff and technicians in the Critical Care Unit and maternity ward gave my son fantastic support.
My family and I wish to express a sincere thank you to all the teams in the operating theatre, Critical Care Unit and in maternity.
We consider ourselves so very fortunate to have been in the right place at the right time and to have met such a hard-working and dedicated team.
On a happy note, mother and baby are fine and will make a full recovery.
