NORTH Midlands suffered a treble disappointment as they missed out on promotion to the top flight of the Tetley's County Championship and were beaten twice at Twickenham in the Tetley's National Under-20 Championship and Tetley's County Sevens.
A 38-12 defeat by Hertfordshire in a play-off at Kidderminster cost North Midlands promotion from the Tetley's County Shield.
Hertfordshire assumed control in the second-half and retained their Championship place.
At Twickenham North Midlands were beaten 32-15 by Yorkshire in the final of the Tetley's National Under-20 Championship.
North Midlands were also beaten 22-12 by Yorkshire in the semi-finals of the Tetley's County Sevens although they did go on to lift the Sevens Plate with a 60-17 win over Eastern Counties in the final.
Two tries EACH from Tom Richardson, Hugo Southwell and Rob Young gave North Midlands victory after Tim Walsh, an Australia sevens international, and Worcester scrum-half John O'reilly had scored tries against Yorkshire.
