AS a past guitarist for the George Cowley Experience, I was most upset to read the recent comments questioning the musical abilities of the popular Worcester combo.
During my time with the band, I spent many a long minute slaving over the fretboard of my battered Fender Telecaster, creating a myriad of intricately hybrid picked melodies.
At one point, I even learned a third chord that involved the use of three fingers.
During my passionate guitar solo in So Long Mobylette, I noticed many a member of the audience walking out early, with tears welling in their eyes, the emotion of the show obviously being too much for them.
The detractors? They must be in denial of the lure of the trilby.
PAUL ROSE,
St John's,
