Worcester City chairman Dr Mike Sorensen remains hopeful that a two feeder league to the Conference will be introduced sooner rather than later.
The Football Association has scrapped Nationwide Conference plans to introduce a similar scheme next season insisting clubs need more time to decide their destinies.
But with 63 out of 69 clubs from the Dr Martens, Rymans and Unibond leagues, including Worcester City, indicating a preference for a two feeder league structure, Dr Sorensen is clear that is the direction the FA should be taking. "It was never going to happen for next season but there needs to be some re-organisation of the pyramid system and at the end of the day we hope that democracy will help the FA make the right decision.
"The majority of clubs want a two feeder league system and we hope this can be achieved," said Dr Sorensen.
The FA National League System committee will be asking the Conference to provide a more detailed proposal.
