THE mother of an RAF woman posted in Iraq, is urging people to send basic toiletry supplies to those serving in the Gulf.
Kath Hewlett's 22-year-old daughter Rachel, a Senior Aircraftwoman, has been in the war-torn country since March.
Mrs Hewlett, of Meadow Road, Claines, Worcester, has been sending two boxes of goodies a week to her daughter full of items such as toilet rolls and mouthwash, but she said many soldiers were not sent parcels.
"They do get a ration pack allowance but they only get basics," said 49-year-old Mrs Hewlett.
Toilet rolls, mouthwash, soap, toothpaste, sweets, biscuits, shampoo, conditioner, crisps, magazines and sweets are some of the items people can send.
"Not every member of the forces has got family - we take it for granted," said Mrs Hewlett.
SAC Hewlett, a former pupil of Bishop Perowne C of E High School, is a personal administrator in the RAF.
"She is not expected back unfortunately till September. We miss her lots," said Mrs Hewlett. Anyone wishing to donate items should send them to RAF, OP LOCK TEAM, APOD, OP TELIC, BFPO 649.
