WORCESTER City can wrap up a good week for the club with victory over Dover Athletic at St George's Lane tomorrow (3pm).
Rivals Tamworth and Stafford Rangers dropped points in the title race while John Barton's side progressed to the fourth round of the FA Trophy with victory against Newport County.
City's assistant manager Mick Tuohy expects plenty of jostling between the leading sides over the next months with Stafford's midweek conquerors Havant and Waterlooville tipped to be moving up the table.
"We've done well by not playing a league game this week and it's worked in our favour," he said.
"But there is going to be plenty of movement at the top with teams like Dover challenging.
"Havant are another who I wouldn't be surprised to see up there. They have started to pick up points after underachieving so far this season and I think there is a bit more to come from them.
"Our victory at Tamworth has opened things up and this league is definitely the place to be and there are no easy games as we've proved by dropping points against the likes of Hinckley and Ilkeston."
Dover, currently sixth in the table, hold good memories for Tuohy, who made his debut against them for Southend in a pre-season friendly in 1979, though the downside was picking up food poisoning from the post-match meal and spending a week in hospital.
To avoid feeling sick after tomorrow's encounter, Tuohy knows his players will need to be on form.
"I don't know too much about Dover but I expect it to be as tough a game as we've had," he said.
"We have got to be at our best and we can't afford against a side like Dover to have three or four players a little off colour as they were against Newport."
Injuries will once again dictate City's team selection but Adam Wilde, who has been carrying a foot injury, will play.
After a burst of four goals in six games, Wilde has gone five games without scoring but Tuohy would not bet against the winger hitting the scoresheet.
"He'll definitely get some opportunities and I wouldn't be surprised to see him score," he added.
City have not played the Whites since they were league winners in 1992-93, and Dover boss Clive Walker admits his side, relegated from the Nationwide Conference last year, have found it difficult adapting to the demands of the Dr Martens Premier Division.
But one defeat in their last six matches on the road has seen them finding their feet.
"The side has changed totally from last year and this has not been an easy league by any stretch," said Walker.
"The new players are settling in but every game has been hard and everybody seems to beat each other, top or bottom."
FORMCAST: City to steal the points 1-0.
