WORCESTER City were knocked off top spot in the Dr Martens Premier Division by Tamworth last night but only on goal difference.
Darron Gee's side drew 1-1 at home with Tiverton Town and the result leaves the Staffordshire side on level points with City but with a game in hand.
John Barton's team had further good news last night when third-placed Stafford Rangers were beaten 3-1 at home by Havant and Waterlooville.
Meanwhile the St George's Lane club will need minor adjustments to meet Nationwide Conference ground requirements by April 1.
The floodlights need upgrading by five per cent but that apart the ground is essentially set up for Conference football if Worcester are successful in their championship bid.
Barton will be hoping for a disciplined performance from his players in Saturday's home clash with Dover Athletic with three players -- Jon Holloway, Pat Lyons and Adam Wilde -- carrying four bookings.
City's boss is still without six first teamers due to injury but Mark Shail has started an intense fitness programme and Stewart Hadley is within three to four weeks of a comeback.
David Foy is waiting for the stitches in his knee to dissolve before he starts training again and Mark Owen is still three weeks away from fitness with a stomach strain. Marc Burrow continues to make progress.
