EATING healthily and taking regular exercise are just some of the top tips being given by a Worcestershire health group to both prevent and treat diabetes.
The Kidderminster Diabetes Team is holding an open evening as part of a national campaign to increase awareness of the disease, which currently affects more than one-and-a-half-million people in Britain.
This figure is set to double by 2010 and increasing weight in both adults and children is a major factor.
For anyone already suffering with diabetes there will be trade stands with the latest equipment, a display of healthy foods and a demonstration of retinal screening at the Post Graduate Medical Centre at Kidderminster Hospital.
The meeting is being held on Tuesday, June 10 from 5.30pm to 8.30pm.
