ASA Charlton will make his first league start for nearly three months against Hinckley United tomorrow (3pm).
The Worcester City defender replaces suspended Paul Carty who will serve a one-match ban for picking up five bookings.
Darren Middleton is also out of the St George's Lane clash with a one-game suspension but despite City's depleted squad assistant manager Mick Tuohy is confident the leaders can cope.
"We are going to have to make at least two changes and that can have a big reaction but there should be enough strength and quality with people like Asa Charlton," he said.
"Asa is champing at the bit to be involved having overcome injury and it will be a good test for him."
Former City midfielder Leon Jackson is now with the Knitters and can expect a good reception.
Injuries and the arrival of new faces hampered his impact at Worcester but he left the club last month with glowing references from John Barton's management team.
"Leon was very popular, outstanding and among the best I've worked with," said Tuohy.
"When he left he rang me to wish all the best and I'm just sorry it didn't work out for him but he'll be keen to impress if he is fit.
"We've got a big month ahead with a lot of difficult matches and this is one of them.
"Hinckley are going through a lot of changes in regards to a new ground and I they are definitely and up and coming club and it will be a tough encounter."
An Adam Webster strike was enough to seal victory for City at Middlefield Lane in September.
But it needed an inspired display by goalkeeper Danny McDonnell to stop Dean Thomas' side from getting on the scoresheet, as Tuohy readily admits.
"If I'm being honest I think we rode our luck at their place earlier in the season and perhaps didn't deserve the three points but there have been other games when we haven't got our dues so it balances itself out," he said.
Sussex rivals Crawley Town visit St George's Lane on Monday but must first dispense with an FA Cup tie against Dagenham and Redbridge tomorrow - a situation Tuohy is glad to have missed.
"Crawley have had a decent run in the FA Cup but from our point of view I'm glad we are not involved," he said.
"Obviously we missed the financial gains that a run gives you but the break and the free Saturday gave us chance to work on a few things in training and we've come away with two good results on the bounce.
"We've had a good record against Crawley at home while they've been good on the road this season so it's got the makings of an exciting game."
FORMCAST: City to beat Hinckley 2-0.
