CARL Heeley will make his 400th appearance for Worcester City tonight but admits victory at bogey side Bath City is much more important.
The St George's Lane club have failed to beat Bath in their last 10 meetings and suffered a double defeat last season.
Worcester manager John Barton will pick from the same squad that defeated Havant 2-1 at the weekend but the omens look good for City with Bath still reeling from a 6-1 thrashing at Tamworth -- their biggest defeat in six years.
Heeley is proud of his appearance record but will not be letting that cloud his preparations.
"The 400 marker is a milestone and a personal thing but three points is more important," he said.
"We probably had our two worst performances against Bath last season but we've had a few changes over the summer and we are confident of making a good showing.
"It would be great to cap tonight off with a win and go into the FA Cup on Saturday knowing we are still top of the league.
"We said after the Stafford defeat that it is important to go on another unbeaten run and we've started to do that."
The St George's Lane captain leads his team into the match with morale at a peak after their sensational fightback at the weekend against Havant & Waterlooville which put them back at the top of the Dr Martens Premier Division.
"Paul Carty's sending off changed the game but after that I thought we were phenomenal and could have won more convincingly," he added
Heeley becomes only the eighth City player to make 400 appearances - a list which includes former team-mates John McGrath (466) and Ian Cottrill (431), but he still has a long way to go to pass all time leading appearance holder Bobby McEwan (596).
The other players to reach the magic figure are Kevin Tudor (472), George Bassett (467), Howard Madley (414) and Malcolm Phelps(404).
Heeley has played with dozens of players during his eight-year spell at the club but rates the current squad among the best.
"It would be unfair to single out players having played with so many good ones but this squad is as good as any I've played with," he said.
FORMCAST: City to nick it 1-0.
