STRIKER Stewart Hadley has been ruled out of Worcester City's early pre-season training programme as he undergoes further treatment on his Achilles.
However the 28-year-old is on course to be fit for the start of the new campaign and admits he is raring to go after missing the final three games of last season.
Hadley is due to have a steroid injection in his Achilles this week and has been advised to steer clear of road running and the traditional Malvern Hills slog that City players are put through as part of their fitness regime for the new season.
"I'll start some light jogging next week but I'll be building up my cardiovascular work through other things such as bikes and swimming while the other lads are pounding up the Malvern Hills," said Hadley.
"I'm raring to go again and have had a longer break than usual due to missing the last month of last season."
City's players returned to training last night with a session at Brickfields Park, Worcester, with new signings David Foy and Pat Lyons and several trialists in attendance.
