WE found the winning formula in style at Hastings and we need to reproduce that kind of form week in, week out.
I described that performance as awesome and deep down we always felt that with the quality of players that we have that someone, somewhere was going to get a pasting.
Hastings could have had no complaints if they had been six down at half-time we were that good, though admittedly in our recent run of form we didn't look like we could get in the box six times let alone score six goals.
We're not foolish enough to think that we will always play like that, but I don't think it is unreasonable that we can't come closer to that level on a more consistent basis due to the ability that we have in the dressing room.
That display was a benchmark and with quality players like Adam Wilde, Pat Lyons, David Holmes and John Snape, who should be fit for Saturday, it is something we are striving to achieve.
It is certainly something we will need to display against Aldershot Town in the FA Trophy at St George's Lane this weekend.
Anyone with knowledge of the non-league soccer scene will know the tie brings together two of the bigger clubs and it is a cracking match to look forward to.
In addition, it's also about time we won one of these big matches -- we've played and lost to Rushden & Diamonds, Stafford in the Centenary Match and Telford -- and it would be nice if we could actually win one for a change.
The FA Trophy remains a great competition even though it has lost a little of its magic with the absence of a Wembley final appearance at the end.
That was always the dream and it came true for Mick Tuohy and myself as players at Kidderminster Harriers, but that's all history now and the current crop of Worcester players can also stamp their mark on the competition.
However, they will need to be up for it because Aldershot are a good team and the Ryman League is a strong competition to play in.
A couple of years ago when we lost to Hendon, I thought they deserved to win and from what I had seen of other Ryman teams I thought the standard was a little higher than in the Dr Martens league.
Having said that I don't know if that is still the case -- but we will soon find out.
Like most games, what happens on the day can be decided by the slightest thing and whatever team I put out will need to be a lucky eleven.
But if the lads reproduce the form they showed against Hastings, then we won't need any luck.
Hopefully there will be a big St George's Lane crowd to see the match which is undoubtedly the tie of the round.
